Texas Steel Competition competition, an independent steel-target shooting club run by Marisa Hogan and Paul Delmas, holds regular and .22 Cal Pistol matches each month at the Cedar Ridge Range. The Texas Steel Competition match consists of five all-steel stages generally (but not always) patterned after the USPSA Steel Challenge, sometimes with a little something extra thrown in.

Setup: 8:00AM
Range Opens: 9:00AM
Registration: 9:00AM
First Shots: 9:45AM

.22 LR Caliber only
No .22 Win Magnums please

.22 Matches

A .22 LR Caliber Pistol Fun match is held at Cedar Ridge on the 4th Saturday of every month. The cost is $15 for the first firearm and an additional $10 for a second firearm. The entry fee includes all range and match fees. All Ladies, Juniors (12-17), Active Military, and LEO with I.D.s shoot for $10,

NEW SHOOTERS should arrive a little early to get safety briefing before the match.

MAJOR LOADS are NOT allowed since they will damage the steel. Those using major loads will be asked to leave the match.

EYE AND EAR protection are required for all shooters and spectators, and a bag for .22 pistols if you don't have a holster. In the interest of safety, no tank tops or sandals allowed in the competition.

Our stages are set up to be safe, improve your skills and to have fun. So come on out and visit your friends and to meet new ones Round count 125-175 rounds....and don't forget...bring plenty of magazines for magazine changes.

Texas Steel puts on these matches for shooters to:

  1. Practice Safety

  2. Improve skills for bigger matches.

  3. Have fun

All matches will be held at Cedar Ridge range on FM 1863, 5.2 miles from Hwy 281 or 3.0 miles from FM 3009.
